Dr. Kraus attended Georgetown University and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He then pursued a Masters of Science degree in Physiology from Georgetown University. He returned to his home state of New Jersey for medical school and is a graduate of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School where was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society given his superlative academic and clinical performance.
Following his medicine internship at Mount Sinai in Manhattan, he attended Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital for radiology residency and served as chief resident. He went on to complete his training at CUMC/NYPH with a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology (IR) where he received comprehensive training in a plethora of interventions, including biopsies, drainages, and vascular access as well as advanced procedures such as complex biliary interventions, dialysis interventions, percutaneous ablations, and transarterial chemoembolization. He is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American Medical Association, the ACR, the ABR and Sigma Xi (the scientific research society). Furthermore, he is an authorized user in Nuclear Medicine and performs radioactive iodine ablation for thyroid disease. Dr. Kraus is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care to all his patients and strives to promote humanism in medicine.
When not on clinical duty, he enjoys long-distance running, cooking, adventuresome eating, and yoga.
Dr. Kraus is certified by the American Board of Radiology.
